Wasted Effort?
The Democrats in Congress are in a real no win.
They can't cut off funds because it would be political suicide, but they can't do anything else either, because it'll get vetoed. And if they don't do something (which they can't) they go into the 2008 elections having accomplished nothing about the situation in 2 years in the majority.
If the war gets worse, they share the blame, not having helped the situation. If the war gets better while they've been doing nothing except unsuccessful attempts at getting us out, they don't really share any credit.
I wouldn't want to be them.
Meanwhile, we're about 2000 hours into the first 100 hours and if they're having a conference committee for the Iraq thing, maybe they could take a few moments to work on that minimum wage bill.

Isn't not accomplishing the good you attempt better than just letting throught the bad you abhor?
I would also not want to be them.
It really depends on the value of your time. If there is something useful you can do with your time, it seems a shame to spend it making statements.
